In August of 2018 the AJC reported the former Sears at Gwinnett Place Mall was purchased by a luxury apartment developer.

Location: Gwinnett County, GA

Client: Gwinnett Place Community Improvement District

On December 15, 2020, the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners agreed to buy Gwinnett Place Mall from Moonbeam Capital. The Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners approved the sale of the 39 acres of mall property to the Gwinnett Urban Redevelopment Agency as part of the Gwinnett government’s efforts to create new opportunities for catalytic development in the area via a partnership with the Gwinnett Place CID and property owners.

The county hopes to “bring new life to a stalled shopping district through strategic investment and planning,” according to a news release from Gwinnett County Government.

KB Advisory Group has assisted the Gwinnett Place Community Improvement District to analyze and plan the area for many years. In late 2020 we reported on our role in quantifying the tremendous impact the Gwinnett Place area makes on our region and our state’s economy.
