In a recent article, Douglas Sams, an Atlanta Business Chronicle Editor, looked into what funding via property taxes has meant to Atlanta in the face of the pandemic. Geoff Koski noted that revenue sources are different in each city, and in Atlanta, property taxes have been critical. In 2020, travel through Hartsfield-Jackson International dropped significantly due to COVID-19. Yet revenues increased during 2020, and property tax revenues will be a source of strength for Atlanta in the future.
