KB Advisory Group develops an Economic Development Strategic Plan for the City of Tucker

KB Advisory Group (KB) Scope

The City of Tucker engaged KB Advisory Group to develop the city’s first Economic Development Strategic Plan (EDSP). The EDSP is a foundational document for the City of Tucker’s economic development. The plan identifies Tucker’s existing assets, considers a five-year economic outlook, establishes the economic vision, and provides strategies and implementation steps to achieve the outlined goals. The plan was created using input from Tucker’s residents, businesses, local and regional partners, and city leadership.

Existing Conditions

The City of Tucker’s location in the Atlanta metro bolster’s the city’s economic base. Demographic trends revealed the many strengths of its residents, including a well-educated workforce, high-earning households, and racial and ethnic diversity. KB analysts found the existing industries within Tucker to be diverse and served as critical assets to a resilient local economy grounded by existing employment cores.

The Findings

Based on the demographic and economic analysis, review of the City of Tucker plans and guiding documents, and extensive community input, KB analysts identified target industries that represented areas of opportunity for attention and action, which included professional services, manufacturing, and healthcare. These target industries were linked to the city’s overarching goals, and five initiatives were recommended to achieve these goals and strengthen Tucker’s economic development.
